Created in 1992 to ensure a comprehensive response and to promote the overall wellness of the city’s neighborhoods, the Neighborhood Services Department (NSD) administers and coordinates implementation of various neighborhood plans, programs and services both interdepartmentally and in partnership with our community. The City’s Neighborhood Wellness Action Plan provides guidance for neighborhood-based City services. Organized in the three service areas, the Department directly administers services centered on housing and neighborhood development, neighborhood code compliance and neighborhood community engagement.
