Neighborhood Services Staff taking a picture at Region V Conference On April 24th, 2024 Community Development Specialists Shelby Mammano and Betsy Barclay attended the inaugural National Community Development Association (NCDA) Region V Conference in Columbus, Ohio. This conference marked a significant milestone as entitlement cities from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin gathered for the first time. Midwest Community Development Professionals came together to learn, share ideas, and grow our regional network.

The Neighborhood Programs division is proud to be a long-time member of NCDA. Since 1969, NCDA has been a leader in securing federal resources and designing effective and responsive housing and community development programs for local governments. Membership through this association grants HUD Community and Planning Department grantees, like the City of Champaign, the necessary knowledge and skills to become more effective and dynamic community development administrators.
