On April 20, 2024, City staff from the Equity and Engagement Department and the Police Department attended a community event hosted by the Chinese American Association of Central Illinois (CAACI). This event allowed members of CAACI and community members to learn more about the organization and meet their newly elected board members. The event featured short presentations from both the Champaign and Urbana Police departments and both Mayor Feinen and Mayor Marlin were present to speak to attendees. More than 30 people came out and got the chance to speak with City staff and ask questions. CAACI hopes to create more collaborative opportunities like this in the future.
