America Recycles Day

America Recycles Day, a program of Keep America Beautiful, is a nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.  Each Keep America Beautiful affiliate community hosts an event in early November tailored to their unique needs.  The local event is an opportunity to raise awareness for the national America Recycles Day effort.

The 2020 America Recycles Day event was cancelled as a precaution to the COVID-19 pandemic, but once it is safe to do so, we look forward to working with Champaign’s dedicated volunteers again so we can continue to Keep Champaign Beautiful!  Please check back in Fall 2021 for new event details.

Our last America Recycles Day @ Boneyard Creek Event was held on Saturday, November 10, 2019 from 10 a.m. to Noon.

Individuals and groups volunteer to pickup litter at this cleanup event, and the City provides gloves, buckets, and pick-up sticks.  The City also provides a free pizza lunch for participants.
