The Neighborhood Services Department for the City of Champaign is excited to host the 2026 Champaign Neighborhood Network Conference (CNNC)!

CNNC is a dynamic one-day conference featuring presentations from City staff, local governing bodies/institutions, and community partner agencies covering topics relevant to maintaining vibrant and engaged neighborhoods. CNNC is geared towards Champaign’s registered neighborhood group leaders, their respective neighbors and community members interested in neighborhood organizing and engagement efforts. Your conference experience will include a welcome breakfast, 12 information packed workshop options during the morning session, a networking lunch, an afternoon all-call general session, and a post-conference networking reception. Below is a list of the morning workshop session offerings. CONFERENCE SPACE IS LIMITED AND REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. REGISTRATION IS FREE and open to the public. 1) Resources and Opportunities for Homeowner and Condo Owner Associations: Attendees will learn more about effective community asset management

2) Safe Routes – Pedestrian Paths and Bike Lanes: Attendees will hear about Safe Routes to School and the City’s efforts to improve walkability and biking as alternatives to vehicles

3) Homeless Initiatives: Attendees will be presented an overview of the Champaign County’s Continuum of Service Providers to the Homeless strategic planning process to address issues affecting our most vulnerable population

4) Residential Rental and Vacant Commercial Building Registration: Attendees will learn about the City’s new property registration programs

5) Communication and Engagement Techniques: Attendees will participate in an interactive discussion about alternative communication opportunities and possibilities

6) Access to Healthcare: Attendees will be presented with an overview of how to navigate the healthcare system and discuss local programs available to uninsured and under-insured individuals

7) Gun Violence Blueprint Outcomes: Attendees will be provided a status update on GVBP, introduced to Blueprint partners, and hear about targeted engagement efforts for summer of 2026

8) Downtown Plaza Programming: Attendees will learn more about the programming and events that provide family-friendly social engagement opportunities in City’s vibrant Downtown district

9) Council Goal Setting Process: Attendees will learn about the goal setting process, current goals, and how community members may be involved in the process

10) Addressing Food Insecurity: Attendees will hear about both the challenges and opportunities in addressing food insecurity

11) Immigration Support Services: Attendees will learn more about the efforts to support immigrants and refugees within our community

12) Environmental Sustainability Best Practices: Attendees will hear about policies, initiatives, and best practices in support of environmental sustainability
