Neighborhood Associations
A neighborhood association is a group of neighborhood residents who work together to improve and maintain the quality of life in its neighborhood. Membership in these groups is voluntary. The association may include homeowners, renters, apartment residents, business owners, schools, churches and other community based organizations. Boundaries can range from a couple of blocks to as large as an entire subdivision. At a minimum, leadership consists of a primary and secondary leader. Some neighborhood associations have organized boards with a system of bylaws to lead them. The concerns of these groups are typically broader than community safety, differentiating them from Neighborhood Watch groups.
