Explore a Future in Fire Service with Champaign Fire Department
Are you a young person interested in a career in fire service? The Champaign Fire Department proudly offers the Fire Explorer Program, a unique opportunity to experience the life of a firefighter firsthand. In partnership with the Boy Scouts of America, this program provides hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world experience alongside professional firefighters.
As one of the oldest Explorer Posts in the country—established in 1982, Post 207 has helped shape the futures of over 125 individuals who have gone on to full-time careers in the fire service. Open to youth with a passion for service, the program gives participants a comprehensive look at the fire profession and builds valuable life skills.
