Prospect Avenue Lane Closure

In order to repair a leaking water valve, Illinois American Water and Cross Construction will close one southbound lane of Prospect Avenue between Harvard Street and Maple Street.  The closure will begin on Wednesday, December 26, and will reopen on Monday, December 31.  During the closure, southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.

Neil Street Lane Closure (between Vine Street and Maple Street)

In order to repair a damaged manhole, Urbana-Champaign Sanitary District and Cross Construction will close one northbound lane of Neil Street between Vine Street and Maple Street. The closure will begin on Monday, April 24 and will reopen on Wednesday, April 26, 2017. Northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in the area.


Randolph Street Road Closure

In order to complete repairs to the railroad crossing across Randolph Street, Norfolk Southern Railroad will be closing Randolph Street north of Maple Street to the railroad tracks. The closure will begin on Thursday, October 27 at approximately 8 a.m. and will reopen on Friday, October 28, 2016.


Vacant House Secured After Multiple Intrusions and Fire

A fire occurred at a vacant house in the 300 block of West Maple St. on January 11, 2016.  The Neighborhood Code Compliance Division (NCCD) cited the property as being open to intrusion three times during the previous 30 days.  The owner of the house lives out of state and was unable to secure the property.
