The Neighborhood Services Department hosted the Regional Neighborhood Network Conference (RNNC) Steering Committee meeting January 21-22, 2016. The meeting was organized by NSD for member cities participating in the governance of RNNC. Ten cities were represented at the meeting. The Steering Committee discussed general administrative issues related to RNNC governance issues and provided feedback to NSD and members of the local Planning Committee related to our efforts to organize the 2016 RNNC conference, which will be held in Champaign September 29 – October 1, 2016. The RNNC Steering Committee will meet here again in June to get further status updates regarding our implementation plans for the 30th Anniversary RNNC. Additional components which will be included in the Champaign-Urbana RNNC conference will include a Mayors Roundtable workshop, a Vendor Fair featuring regional and local vendors, and a Regional STAR competition, featuring Neighborhood of the Year and Rising Star nominations from member cities participating in RNNC.
