Officer Dan Ward is honored by the Exchange Club of Champaign as the Champaign Police Department’s “2012 Officer of the Year.” The event took place at an annual recognition luncheon, held on April 22, 2013, at O’Charley’s restaurant.

Champaign Police Officer Ben Newell conducted a “Basic Safety” Presentation to Mrs. Geis’ kindergarten class at Westview School on April 11, 2013. Officer Newell’s presentation focused on gun safety and stranger/danger. He also gave the kids a tour of his squad car.
