In April 2025, Systems Administrator Tim Smith (METCAD) received the Tyler Community Elite Award from Tyler Technologies. Smith was nominated for the award by a law enforcement professional from another Illinois county who also uses Tyler public safety products.
Tyler Community is a forum that Tyler clients use to seek advice on software modules, provide experiences with products, and make software suggestions. Smith frequently uses the forum to offer assistance to other agencies based on experience he has gained as one of Illinois’ first agencies to use the Tyler Enterprise Public Safety Records Management System. Smith’s knowledge and skills were instrumental in getting the software to conform with state and federal crime reporting systems. Smith is being recognized for his hard work not only in Champaign County, but also by law enforcement agencies from within the state that see the value of his contributions.
