Safe States Annual Injury & Violence Prevention Conference

September 11-14, 2023, the Equity and Engagement Department sent Community Relations Managers, Jorge Elvir and Tracy Parsons, to the Safe States Annual Injury & Violence Presentation Conference in Denver, Colorado.

The Safe States Alliance is a national non-profit membership association dedicated to strengthening the practice of injury and violence prevention through an anti-racism and health equity lens. It boasts a diverse and growing membership includes more than 800 individuals and organizations from a wide array of public health settings. The group works to increase awareness of the burden of injury and violence across the lifespan and strategies for preventing it. To enhance capacity through dissemination of best practices, setting standards for surveillance, conducting assessments, and facilitating peer-to-peer technical assistance.
