On Monday September 11, 2023, Old Warson Road neighborhood watch held their first group meeting at Powell Park. Ten neighbors participated in the initial group meeting and discussed challenges and opportunities impacting the neighbors. NSD staff shared engagement and organizing strategies to address some of the neighborhood stability issues. The initial group meeting will be followed up with a neighborhood social event this fall.
On Tuesday September 12, 2023, GHMC Neighborhood Watch held their first official group meeting at Fire Station 1. Approximately 25 neighbors participated in the meeting which formalized the groups organizing efforts in response to increased traffic safety concerns in their neighborhood. Group members also expressed a desire for greater neighbor to neighbor connections and pro-actively engaged the City to support ongoing organizing and engagement efforts. NSD staff attended the meeting to welcome them on board as a new group and shared information related to City goals and priorities.
