Adopting a drain can help ensure only rain goes down the drain. Stormwater drain grates often collect leaves and litter, which can clog the pipes that make up the storm sewer and run directly to our streams, lakes and rivers. By adopting a drain, you can remove these materials before they enter our storm sewer system. Currently, the City’s Adopt A Drain program has 8,450 drains available to adopt, shown in green in the map.
