On May 11, the Champaign County Community Coalition hosted its monthly meeting in person at the Holiday Inn, Champaign. Law enforcement leadership from the City of Champaign, City of Urbana, Parkland, and U of I the shared updates regarding community violence, as well as community engagement and employment opportunities.
Tracy Parsons welcomed Rachel Joy, Director/ Chief Equity Officer and Jorge Elvir, Community Relations Manager of the Community Safety and Justice Division.
Presenters shared information regarding the Housing Authority YouthBuild program, Champaign Unit 4 School District summer registration for students, Promise Healthcare and upcoming community engagement activities through the Coalition Race Relations Committee which includes a discussion on Mental Health Dialogue at Parkland College on May 17 at 11am.
