In order to install new water main on Willis Avenue between Armory Avenue and Charles Street, Illinois American Water and Cross Construction will be closing the following lanes:
- The northbound lane of Willis Avenue will be closed between Armory Avenue and Charles Street. Access will be maintained to all properties.
- The east half of the Willis/Charles intersection will be closed. No through traffic will be allowed on Charles Street between Willis Avenue and Prospect Avenue. Access to properties on Charles Street between Willis Avenue and Prospect Avenue will be maintained via Prospect Avenue.
- During construction hours, Armory Avenue at Willis Avenue will be reduced to one lane. Flaggers will be used to direct traffic. Both eastbound and westbound Armory Avenue will be reopened to traffic overnight.
These closures will begin on Tuesday, November 2, and will reopen on Friday, November 19, 2021.
