Today, Mayor Feinen issued COVID-19 Related Emergency Order 20-03, cancelling the March 23, 2020, Board of Fire and Police Commissioners meeting. Until the next regularly scheduled meeting in April, any power of the of the Board under Section 2-503 of the Champaign Municipal Code may be taken by the City Manager.
Cancellation is due to the closure of the City building, discouragement of in-person meetings and the need to devote staff to public safety matters related to the current public health emergency.
