ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY – Police Seek the Public’s Help in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect

Today, at approximately 2:18 PM, Champaign Police Officers responded to Regions Bank, located at 111 S. State Street for a reported bank robbery.

According to bank staff, a suspect entered the bank and demanded money; implying but not displaying a weapon.  The suspect was handed an undetermined amount of currency and the suspect then fled on foot in a northwest direction.  No injuries were reported.
Police are interviewing witnesses from the bank and the immediate area. The suspect is described as a Black male, possibly in his early to mid 40’s, approximately 5’08” – 5’10” in height with a thin build and small grey chin beard.  The suspect was seen wearing black pants; white tennis shoes; a tan-colored coat; and a black fur-lined hood possibly from a second jacket underneath.
