Champaign Police Investigate Shooting

On Friday, August 15, 2014, at approximately 3:10 AM, Champaign Police responded to a local hospital for a patient being treated for a gunshot wound.  The victim is a 26 year-old male. The injuries were not life threatening, and the victim was able to provide the police with a statement.

According to the victim, he was a passenger in a vehicle parked in a driveway somewhere on Bradley Avenue, west of Prospect Avenue.  The victim observed a suspect, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, approaching the car.  The suspect pointed a black handgun through the open window and fired 1-2 rounds, one of which struck the victim.

At this time, Champaign Police do not have any additional suspect information or an exact location where the incident took place.
