The final lot at Taylor Thomas Subdivision was transferred to Habitat for Humanity on July 18, 2014. Permits have been submitted to the Building Safety Division for approval. Construction is slated to begin in the fall of 2014. The design of the home will be identical to the home located at 411 Taylor Thomas Lane featuring a 3 bedroom/2 bath home and a two car attached garage. The home will also be built to the City’s “visitablity” standards which includes a no-step entrance and open pathways throughout the home to accommodate disabled individuals. This home will be built for “low vision” individuals which will include contracting walls and bigger light switches. Completion of the home is scheduled for Spring 2015. The City will be providing $155,000 in funding for completion of this home. Additionally, this project is in the Enterprise Zone which will give the future owner a reduction on property tax over the next five years.
