On Monday, July 21, Neighborhood Services Director Kevin Jackson, Neighborhood Coordinator John Ruffin, Administrative Assistant Colleen Madera, and Community Development Specialist Susan Jones attended the United Garden Hills Neighborhood Association Monthly Meeting. Also in attendance from the City was Police Chief Anthony Cobb, Lieutenant Dave Shaffer, and Councilmembers Deborah Frank Feinen, Vic McIntosh, Karen Foster and Tom Bruno. Chief Cobb and Lt Shaffer spoke to the 50+ residents in attendance about concerns with the fatality on Hedge Road as well as other things residents can do to be more alert in protecting their neighborhood. They also encouraged attendance monthly at the neighborhood meetings. Kevin spoke about resources that Neighborhood Services has to assist the residents and listened to some code compliance concerns. John and Amy Revilla, UGHNA President, spoke about upcoming Neighborhood Coordination events and engagement activities planned for the neighborhood. Amy also passed out sign up sheets for residents to sign up to help with future activities, including the upcoming National Night Out event scheduled for Tuesday, August 5.
