Champaign Police Investigating Shooting

On April 6, 2020, at approximately 12:35 p.m., Champaign Police were investigating reports of shots fired in the area of Bellefontaine Street and Market Street.  At approximately 12:42 p.m., a 32-year-old male arrived by private vehicle at a local hospital with what is believed to be a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg.

The preliminary investigation indicates the male victim was outside a residence in the 1100 block of North Champaign Street when an individual on a bicycle appeared in the alley behind the residence and fired multiple shots.  A scene was located and evidence was recovered.  No arrests have been made at this time.
