On March 18th, staff from the Neighborhood Services Department attended a Habitat for Humanity home dedication on Hill Street. Rob Kowalski, Neighborhood Services Director, spoke on behalf of the HOME Consortium, which provided funding and support for the construction of the house. The lot for the new home was donated from the City of Champaign through the lot disposition process, which offers any surplus infill lots to Habitat for Humanity before offering them to the public. This ensures that City-owned lots are used to support Habitat for Humanity’s work in creating affordable homeownership opportunities.
