On Saturday, April 18, 2026, Justice Victim Advocate Angela Worthey joined Christine Pierce of Carle Behavioral Health, Lynnette White of the Eastern Illinois Food Bank, Juan Morales of the Hope Center, and members of the Lived Experience Subcommittee of the Continuum of Service Providers to the Homeless – including Chair Kintessa Redmon – to support Jerell Anthoni host a Youth Pantry event at Country Brook from 4 to 7 p.m.
The Wee CU Pantry at Country Brook launched a community-wide focus on supporting our most vulnerable – our youth. Anyone under 18 or with children under 18 in the home could receive additional meal items, such as loaves of bread, snacks, drinks, socks, hygiene kits, and school supplies if needed.
The pantry served 232 adults and children through 92 care packages, nearly using up all donated supplies during the three-hour event. This initiative demonstrates our collective commitment to supporting and uplifting our youth and families, fostering stronger community relations.
