Champaign celebrated National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, bringing together community members, local officials, and public safety personnel for an evening of fun and connection. The event featured delicious nachos, family-friendly activities, and a surprise visit from beloved superheroes.
Participants had the opportunity to engage with Councilwoman Kathy Shannon, the Champaign Police and Fire Departments, the Neighborhood Services Department, the Equity and Engagement Department, and Tricoci University, all of whom helped make the event a success.
The evening fostered stronger relationships between neighbors and the officers who serve them, reinforcing the city’s commitment to public safety, equity, and community engagement.
