The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fully involved detached garage fire in the 1600 block of Parkside Terrace, Thursday, November 23 at 2:16 p.m. Fire crews worked to keep the fire from extending into the home.
Firefighters responded to the report of an occupant that a grill had started a detached garage on fire. Once on the scene, firefighters reported a fully involved garage fire that was beginning to extend into the single-story residence. Crews deployed multiple lines to keep the fire from extending further in the home and extinguish the garage.
The cause of this fire was accidental. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported.
