The annual Employee Awards and Service Recognition Ceremony was held on November 15, 2023. This event celebrates the accomplishments and service of City of Champaign staff honored with either an employee award or for achieving a career milestone.
This year’s celebration honored 83 employees who received an individual or team award. These staff members were honored by their peers for going above and beyond the call of duty during the last year. Two additional groups of employees were recognized with a special CIVIC Special Recognition Award for assisting with the METCAD and Public Works Derecho Response team or the Champaign Park Apartments Task Force.
Thirteen employees received Certificates of Achievement and another 96 received a service pin to mark a career milestone of either 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, or 30 years of service to Champaign’s residents. Combined, these 96 employees have served Champaign’s residents for more than 1,315 years!
