On October 24, 2023 the New American Welcome Center (NAWC) held their Welcoming Week Partner Thank You Reception. This event allowed all of the participants of Welcoming Week to come together in community and celebrate the success of the week. Champaign Police Chief and staff from the Equity and Engagement Department were in attendance. From Sept 8th-17th, 29 events were held to celebrate immigrants and their contributions to the social fabric of our country. The week boats 2,650 attendees who came to be a part of these events. During the reception, NAWC staff played a slideshow of photos, discussed “wins” of the week and their hopes for making next year even stronger.
