In order to retire water service and patch pavement at 409 E. Springfield Avenue, Illinois American Water and Shaw Brothers will close Fifth Street between Springfield Avenue and Healey Street. The closure will begin on Tuesday, September 5, and will reopen on Monday, September 11, 2023. During the closure, through traffic will not be allowed, but access will be maintained to all local properties.
