On June 6, 2023, Champaign Police were joined by staff from multiple City departments to host “Ice Pops with a Cop” at the Hedge Pop! Park. This first-time event featured hundreds of popsicles and fun activities for police personnel, city staff, and children from the Garden Hills neighborhood, along with an opportunity for the kids to get to know CPD’s leadership. It was supported by staff from the City’s Equity and Engagement, Planning, Public Works, and Neighborhood Services Departments.
The City’s Summer 2023 programs in the Hedge Pop! Park are meant to provide ongoing opportunities for kids to participate in fun activities and learning experiences. By providing new and unique opportunities, City staff can help to broaden the horizons of the children in our community.
