University Avenue Lane Closures
(between Chestnut Street and First Street)
CHAMPAIGN – Starting Tuesday June 6, 2023, Pole Painting Plus will be in town repainting the traffic signal at the intersection of University Avenue and Chestnut Street. They will then move on to repaint the streetlight poles between Chestnut Street and First Street along University Avenue. This process is expected to take most of the week. In order to reach the pole, there will be periods of time needed to occupy the lane closest to the curb and traffic will be directed around the activity. Minor traffic delays may occur in the area.
Work operations and lane impacts are daytime only. This work is weather dependent and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
Please pay close attention to traffic control devices and proceed cautiously through work zones. The City of Champaign would like to thank you for your cooperation and patience during the remainder of this construction season.
