Mayor and City Staff Attend Habitat for Humanity Home Dedication

City staff recently attended the dedication of the Habitat for Humanity home for the Hull family. At the event, Mayor Feinen spoke about the City’s longstanding relationship with Habitat for Humanity. The City has provided buildable lots through donation and most recently through the City’s lot disposition program. City staff have also been fortunate to participate as a team of volunteer workers in several past builds. Habitat has acquired many vacant lots for their builds through Neighborhood Services’ Lot Disposition Program. From 2017-2022, Habitat acquired nine vacant lots from the City of Champaign. The City also partners with Habitat for Humanity as members of the Urbana HOME Consortium. The Urbana HOME Consortium provided $39,500 in Community Housing Development Organizations funds to assist with the building of the Hull family home. Congratulations to Hull family on your new home!
