On October 8, 2022, the Neighborhood Services and Police Departments participated in the Peace Jam alongside Courage Connection, and the Champaign Park District to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Thanks to everyone’s contributions, residents were able to gain knowledge of local resources that included representatives from CU Public Health, RACES, Champaign County CASA, CU Tri, and the University of Illinois CCRS.
The Peace Jam event provided a family-friendly atmosphere, allowed City staff to support community engagement for residents who have been affected by domestic violence, and promoted goodwill throughout the community. The City looks forward to supporting our neighborhoods, residents, and community organizations throughout the remainder of the year.
