The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire inside a single-family home at 1707 Carolyn Dr., September 23, 2022, at 9:46 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire that was primarily contained to the kitchen of the home.
Firefighters responded to a report from an occupant of a fire in this single-story home. Once on the scene, firefighters reported moderate smoke coming from the front of the home. Fire crews deployed a single hose line and quickly extinguished the fire.
The cause of this fire is accidental and was attributed to cooking. There were no occupant or firefighter injuries reported. The occupant will be displaced as a result of the fire.
