In order to complete soil remediation, Ameren Illinois closed Fifth Street between Church Street and Washington Street. The closure began on Monday, December 6, 2021, and is now scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
The street will be closed to through traffic, but access to all local properties will be maintained. Drivers are encouraged to seek an alternative route as the closure may cause congestion for local traffic. This work is weather dependent and may be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
