Telecommunicator I Recruitment Information Meeting

Picture of the information meetingOn Tuesday, April 12, 2022, METCAD hosted an information meeting for people interested in learning more about the position of Telecommunicator I. This event was an opportunity for potential applicants to develop an understanding of the METCAD structure, the responsibilities and expectations of being a Telecommunicator, and the hiring process. The presentation covered a variety of topics including: METCAD History, TC Job Duties, Salary and Benefits, Training Process, and the Testing and Selection Process. The presentation concluded with a video depicting a 9-1-1 call process from initial intake through completion including Police, Fire, and EMT dispatch and response coordination followed by a Q&A session.

Staff at the event included METCAD Director Ralph Caldwell, Operations Manager Betsy Smith, Supervisor Jenny Frost, Administrative Assistant Kristin Wright, and Telecommunicator IIs Brent Daughterty, Brad Hardcastle, and Travis Wallin. Stacy Rachel and Elizabeth Borman from the Human Resources Department also attended.

The information meeting was scheduled in conjunction with National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Applications for Telecommunicator I are being accepted on a continuous basis through National Testing Network (www.nationaltestingnetwork.com). The National Testing Network testing fee will be waived for all applicants for the entire month of April. The next test score pull date is May 2, 2022.
