Face Coverings No Longer Required in City Facilities Starting February 28

In line with Governor Pritzker’s plans to lift the statewide indoor mask mandate next week, the City of Champaign will no longer require visitors or staff inside City facilities to wear a face covering starting on February 28, 2022. After that date, members of the public and City employees may choose to wear face masks inside City facilities, but they will not be required. The health and safety of the public and our employees remains a top priority, and anyone who was recently exposed to COVID-19, or is symptomatic, is encouraged to stay home and contact the City via phone or email for any customer service needs.

The City of Champaign thanks the public for its cooperation with the changes that have been necessary to align with evolving public health guidelines throughout the pandemic. The City will continue to work with public health officials to monitor the impact of the coronavirus on our community and respond appropriately to promote public health and safety.
