The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire in an apartment at 907 S. Mattis Ave., January 18, 2022, at 10:47 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire in this multi-family apartment building.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in this three-story apartment building called in by the occupants. Once on the scene, fire crews reported a fire in the second story. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and quickly extinguished the fire.
The cause of this fire is undetermined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or occupant injuries reported. The occupants of the apartment will be displaced as a result of the damage.
