New Hope Church Back to School
On August 14 Rachel Joy from the Office of Equity, Community and Human Rights joined Councilperson Daniel Iniguez and Champaign Fire Department staff Robert Simmons and Jeremy Mitchell at the Back to School Bash at New Hope Church. This event was sponsored by the NAACP of Champaign County with collaboration from DREAAM, the Hip Hop Express, Champaign-Urbana Public Health Department, The Ministerial Alliance of Champaign-Urbana & Vicinity, Foster Grandparent, Central Illinois Purity, CU Trauma & Resilience Initiative, and other community groups and organizations. Attendees enjoyed music, registered students for school, learned about community resources, received school supplies, and more!
