The City Manager’s Office hosted seven public meetings between August 4-14, 2021, in order to gather public input regarding the recruitment of the City’s next Public Works Director and Chief of Police. Attendees were able to provide their feedback and suggestions directly to City Manager Dorothy David through meaningful, facilitated discussions. Tracy Parsons (Community Relations Manager) served as the meeting emcee and Dr. Travis Dixon (University of Illinois) served as the facilitator. Multiple staff members from the City Manager’s Office helped organize and host the meetings, which were held at several locations across Champaign.
Community members who were unable to attend any of meetings are encouraged to complete the surveys available on the City’s website at champaignil.gov/pwdirector and champaignil.gov/policechief. Survey submission deadline is August 20, 2021.
