Shooting Investigation – 1100 block of N Harris Avenue

On Oct. 10, 2020, at approximately 10:11 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the 1100 block of North Harris Avenue for multiple reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 34-year-old male with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right leg. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The preliminary investigation suggests there was a well-attended party when the gunfire began, and the victim was struck. Several shell casings were recovered from the scene, and additional property damage was identified to vehicles.

Any resident or business in the nearby areas with exterior surveillance camera systems is encouraged to contact the police department. It is believed video footage may be of investigative assistance. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time. Future updates may be provided as they become available.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for these crimes.
