The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fully involved vacant structure at 1518 Hedge Road, Wednesday, October 7, 2020, at 10:10 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire that engulfed the former home.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fully involved single-story home. Once on the scene, fire crews reported a heavily involved house fire. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and extinguished the fire from outside the structure.
The structure was vacant at the time of the fire. The cause of this fire is undetermined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter injuries reported.
