Campustown Bar Entry Age Temporarily Increased to 21 and Over

Today, Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen issued Amendment 1 to Emergency Order 20-24. The amended Emergency Order temporarily sets the entry age at 21 and over for all establishments holding a Class A liquor license (bars) in the campus area. There is an exception for campus area bars that serve meals, which are allowed to serve food cooked on the premises to customers under 21 until 9:00 p.m. Individuals under 21 who are eating a meal in a campus area bar must leave the establishment when they have either finished their meal or 9:00 p.m., whichever occurs first. This change goes into effect at 2:00 a.m. on September 25, 2020. The Emergency Order was put into place to promote public safety and social distancing amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
