Shooting Investigation – 100 Block of Kenwood Road

On Sept. 7, 2020, at approximately 9:16 p.m., Champaign Police were dispatched to a local hospital for the report of a shooting victim who had arrived by personal transport. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 27-year-old male with two gunshot injuries. The victim was taken into surgery and his condition is unknown.

The preliminary investigation indicates the shooting occurred in the 100 block of Kenwood Road following a verbal altercation outside of an apartment complex.

Any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance camera systems is encouraged to contact the police department. It is believed video footage may be of investigative assistance. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made at this time. Future updates may be provided as they become available.
