As part of the City’s 2020 Concrete Street Improvements Project, the pavement on Daniel Street from First Street to Fourth Street is being reconstructed. The project includes the intersection of Daniel Street and Fourth Street. Weather permitting, the City’s contractor for the project, Mid Illinois Concrete, will continue work on Thursday, June 4, 2020.
Daniel Street will be closed from Third Street to Fourth Street. The northbound lane of Fourth Street will also be closed at Daniel Street. A marked detour will be provided for northbound traffic on Fourth Street. Southbound Fourth Street will remain open on this phase of the construction. The work at Fourth Street is expected to last for two weeks. Construction on Daniel Street will continue through the end of June.
Please pay close attention to construction signs, traffic control devices, and marked detours. Please do not park on the street near the construction site or in areas that are posted “No Parking.” Proceed cautiously through construction zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. The contractor will attempt to complete construction activities as soon as possible to minimize any inconvenience to residents in the construction areas.
