As part of the City’s 2020 Concrete Street Improvements Project, the pavement on Daniel Street from First Street to Fourth Street will be reconstructed. The project will include the intersection of Daniel Street and Fourth Street. Weather permitting, the City’s contractor for the project, Mid Illinois Concrete, will begin work on Monday, May 18, 2020.
Daniel Street will be closed from Third Street to Fourth Street. The southbound lane of Fourth Street will also be closed at Daniel Street. A marked detour will be provided for southbound traffic on Fourth Street. Northbound Fourth Street will remain open on this phase of the construction. Due to the nature of the work, it will be necessary to close driveways. Residents affected will receive advanced notice at least 48 hours prior to closure of their driveway.
Please pay close attention to construction signs, traffic control devices, and marked detours. Please do not park on the street near the construction site or in areas that are posted “No Parking.” Proceed cautiously through construction zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. The contractor will attempt to complete construction activities as soon as possible to minimize any inconvenience to residents in the construction areas.
