Extension of Payment Due Dates

To provide needed temporary relief for businesses, the City of Champaign will extend due dates to April 30 and waive late fees to April 30 for the following invoices and self-reported taxes: Food and Beverage Taxes, Hotel/Motel Taxes, Local Motor Fuel Taxes, and Multi-family Recycling invoices.

Parking Ticket Due Dates and Parking Fine Collection

For outstanding parking tickets and parking tickets issued, the City of Champaign will extend due dates and suspend late fees until April 30 and will pause collection efforts on delinquent tickets, including booting and towing vehicles.

City Ordinance Violations

Upon closure of the Champaign County Courthouse, hearings for City ordinance violations and small claims cases have been continued. Individuals will receive a notice of rescheduled court dates by mail from the City and/or County when the courthouse reopens. Late fees on these cases will temporarily be waived.

Tax Collection Hearings

Businesses with upcoming City tax collection hearings have an extended opportunity to pay their delinquent taxes, until April 30. As such, no hearing dates will be scheduled until after April 30. The City will notify businesses by mail of the rescheduled hearing dates. No further collection action will be taken during this time.
