Champaign Police Investigating Stabbing, Arrest Made

On Jan. 21, 2020, at approximately 12:16 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the 100 block of Kenwood Road for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a 20-year-old male suffering from multiple, non-life-threatening stab wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital.

The preliminary investigation revealed the stabbing occurred following a verbal altercation between three known acquaintances. The investigation quickly identified Christopher Torry, 22, of Champaign, as the suspect and he was arrested for the offenses of Aggravated Battery and Domestic Battery.

Torry was transported to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office where he is awaiting future court proceedings.
