The Protecting Places of Worship Forum was held at Sinai Temple-Champaign on October 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event was facilitated by the United States Department of Justice Community Relations Service. More than 120 audience members heard an overview of several topics, including religious hate crimes, emergency planning for places of worship, preventing and responding to active shooter situations, and fortifying Places of Worship.
The event was hosted by Sinai Temple-Champaign, the Cities of Champaign and Urbana, and the University of Illinois.
