Champaign Police have identified a suspect in connection to two recent armed robberies to the same local business in the 200 block of West University Avenue. The first occurred on Oct. 19, 2019, at approximately 5 p.m. and the second on Oct. 24, 2019, at approximately 3:44 p.m.
In both the Oct. 19 and Oct. 24 incidents, the investigations revealed the suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun and held the clerk at gunpoint. In both attempts, the suspect fled after obtaining an undisclosed amount of currency. No injuries were reported to police and the suspect did not discharge a firearm during the commission of either robbery.
Today, an arrest warrant was issued for Tyson M. Biggers, 41, of Champaign, for the offense of Armed Robbery with a Firearm. Bond on the warrant was set at $750,000.
Biggers is described as a black male, six feet three inches tall and approximately 190 pounds. Champaign Police are now enlisting public support to help locate him.
